Industry Certifications - NCCER Core, Levels 1- 4

Building Construction Technology
1050 Hour Program - 7 Credits

This program prepares the student with construction, management, and leadership skills in a technologically oriented, diverse, dynamic and global construction environment. Completing this program will qualify you for entry-level jobs in residential or commercial construction. Learn to assist architects, builders, professional engineers and contractors in planning, inspecting and supervising building projects. The program also prepares you for cost estimating or a sales position in construction materials and equipment. This program can lay the foundation for more specialized training later and open doors to opportunities in other areas of construction. Construction is an important job that will continue to be a lucrative career choice as the population grows and requires more buildings. Students in construction technology are exposed to the carpentry, electrical, heating & air, masonry and plumbing. If you like to work with your hands and enjoy being outdoors, this may be the perfect field for you. Students will practice the skills they learn by building a residential home on campus.

Electricity
1200 Hour Program - 8 Credits

This program is a planned sequence of instruction consisting of three occupational completion points.  The recommended sequence allows students to complete specified portions of a program for employment or to remain for advanced training.  A student who completes the applicable competencies at any occupational completion point may either continue with the training program or terminate as an occupational completer. 

Applied Welding Technologies
1170 Hour Program - 8 Credits

This program offers a sequence of courses that provides coherent and rigorous content aligned with challenging academic standards and relevant technical knowledge and skills needed to prepare for further education and careers in the manufacturing career cluster; provides technical skill proficiency, and includes competency-based applied learning that contributes to the academic knowledge, higher-order reasoning and problem-solving skills, work attitudes, general employability skills, technical skills, and occupation-specific skills, and knowledge of all aspects of the manufacturing career cluster.

Air-Conditioning, Refrigeration and Heating Technology
1350 Hour Program - 7 Credits

This program is a planned sequence of instruction consisting of four occupational completion points. The recommended sequence allows students to complete specified portions of the program for employment or to remain for advanced training.  A student who completes the applicable competencies at any occupational completion point may either continue with the training program or terminate as an occupational completer.
